Dear Journal,
A collection of my thoughts, journal entries, and personal affirmations that I hold near and dear to my heart.
,grat·i·tude
noun, the quality of being thankful Through the ups and downs, good and bad days, let's remain thankful. It's so easy for us to focus on what we lack that we ignore what we're currently supplied with. One of my faithful mantras I've embedded into my life: "Train your mind to see the good in every situation" has allowed me to turn negative thoughts into positive confirmations. Being positive and optimistic are actions. Two actions that sometimes do not come easy to us. Bad days will never last forever. The season you're currently in may seem like it will never get better, but focus on why you're in this season. Why would God place you here? It has to be a reason and lesson(s) to be learned. This post was inspired by my very first journal I began when I was in graduate school in 2013. Reading through my entries, I expressed an overwhelming amount of gratitude for my life. Reflecting on the season I was in during that time, I feel a certain compassion for that girl because she was in a space, career, and relationship that she thought wasn't ideal. She longed for more and she prayed faithfully to see her fruits bared. Looking back, knowing what I know now, God was positioning and aligning me for this very moment. From that, I take away to enjoy and be thankful for the current season we're in, no matter how good or bad it may seem. Let's show gratitude, always.
